The Fan.

Every computer and PC has a fan and it is one of the most important components of a computer. Without it, the computer would not function for a long period of time and will degrade quickly with components' lifespans being reduced due to damage from overheating.

The fan unit within a computer will turn on once the GPU, CPU, or other components overheat. As components overheat it will dissipate heat in the surrounding area around the components. Therefore, it is the task of the fans which will then move air through the computer to cool down the components. If there is a larger strain put on the CPU, say for example from playing a video game or editing a video, then it will cause the need for the use of the fan more frequently as video games and editing a video overheats the CPU due to such resource-intensive tasks.

It should be noted that the fan should be maintained at peak performance to allow it to fulfill its role. To clean the fan, its fins should be cleared of dust to maintain its performance. One main aspect to note is that the fan should not be powered nor spinning during this time and so it should be plugged out from any electrical sources. It is suggested that the cleaning process should be done with compressed air, an eclectic vacuum, or a damped cloth which should clean the fan blades.

To properly cool your computer or PC the number of fans should be accounted for as the larger the number of fans the more cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air could be moved into the computer. All in all, the fan is a major part in a computer that allow computers and PCs to last for a longer duration of time.
