There are three main types of switches on a keyboard: linear, clicky, and tactile often symbolized by their color of red, blue, and brown, red is more towards the gaming factors within computers, while clicky is more towards a responsive type often providing more noise as feedback for an input. Tactile keyboards would be the mix of the two often providing noise feedback while also providing room for a comfortable gaming experience.
A person's profession or job could often influence their choice of which keyboard to use. Knowing the difference between these keyboards often helps one in assembling their computer and choosing the most appropriate option to have a more comfortable experience with the keyboard.
